Need help with explosion effect when enemies die

Hello community, first of all i would like to describe to you what i m trying to do.When they player kills an enemy,i want the enemy to explode and his body parts flying at random directions. The game tf2 has a similar effect. The body parts dont have to be from the actual enemy model,i think it would be easier to make the enemy object disappear(destroyed) once it is dead and make an effect showing some generic meshes of arms, hearts etc flying around.I don’t know how i could make this and this is why i am here but i think a particle effect would do the trick? If not, maybe an animation or something? Thanks for any suggestions and help!

The best effects are made out of a variety of smaller effects. For example, look at fire in a professional game; you’ll notice it has several different particle emitters and effects (smoke, light, fire, blur).

Likewise, I suggest you use a few effects put together here. Experiment and see what works, though a good starting point might be destroying the enemy mesh, starting a blood emitter, and making a few body chunk meshes spawn in and have a random force applied to them so the fly away from the exploding body then make them stick to the surface they hit, maybe adding a blood decal on the surface where they land.
