Need help with monetization

Hello everyone,

I’ve just finished developing my first game, it’s an android and ios game.
My team wants to monetize through adds, so what do you guys think is the best option?
Do you think admobs from google is worth it? Do you recommend another way?
Some tips and tutorials would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Chartboost is a good option. It’s easy to integrate into Unity. You can always try both Admob and Chartboost.

Prime31 have good scripts for in-app purchases.

I’ve been searching for other options as well and noticed that the users here say that for Android the best revenue comes from HeyZap and Tapjoy,
so does anyone can confirm that HeyZap gives good revenue for Android and if possible provide some exmaple nunbers?

Ads are not going to give you a lot of revenue. You will get a live time value (LTV) of $ 0.01 - $0.03 or so from ads. If you have 1 million downloads, you will get perhaps $10000 out of them. That said, it is super easy to integrate, so if you want to have something out right away, I have had great experience with chartboost.

Paid games are also not optimal, you will get 1/20th the amount of downloads if you put a pay barrier to entry.

I would recommend you look at micro-transactions, this is the model that almost all top grossing games have in both android and ios. However, this will clearly take more effort in your part. It is actually very hard to get this done right, especially if your game is already done, since it would mean doing some design changes, however, there is no doubt this model is winning and is here to stay.

I would also recommend tapjoy, they are a great company and can help you get your micro-transactions done right and also monetize non paying users.

Check out this talk from a couple years ago. It is still very much spot on:
