I have been creating a horror game and I have a flashlight but when I aim my flashlight at the ground I cannot see the light from it. this is only when I look in one direction. When I look the other direction i have a perfectly good flashlight. how do I fix?
Thats because if the ground is painted black, you cannot see light bouncing off the ground. Change the color of the ground from black to purple to see if it helps.
I dont have black ground though. I have a dirt texture that I have placed on the terrain that I am using and the light still wont shine onto the ground. Is there any other way to fix this?
There could be a hundred reasons for this. You should post some screenshots here of the light settings and the ground. There’s not really enough information to help any further.
ok I will do.

the first image is me facing one way and then the second image is me facing the other way and as you can see the flashlight is being cut off and stays like that the whole time could u tell me how to fix plz
Are you using some type of an asset for the flashlight lens?
Is the ground a single mesh or multiple pieces on the ground?
for my flashlight I have used a spotlight and then on the spotlight I have put a flashlight lens on it from the standard assets pack. And for the ground it is one mesh. I have used the terrain 3D object for it and then just coloured it
Unfortunately I don’t know anything about terrain in Unity.
I would temporarily disable the terrain and then replace it with a unity plane. See if the issue still happens.
If it no longer happens, it must be an issue with the terrain.
Also, what quality settings are you using in the edtior? Try changing to the best quality setting.
ok I will try. thanks for trying to help me tho
