So I’ve been developing this really awesome system, and I think it could be a big hit on the asset store. And I could really use the sales, broke as I am right now.
At the same time, I feel the need to share my philosophy behind this system with the world.
Assume that my system is a revolutionary sort of thing that everybody wants; would I be better off licensing its use on the asset store, or is there some hope that I might gain some notoriety as an artistic/philosophical scripter and teacher?
Perhaps there’s some sort of happy medium?
I feel that if the system is good at what it is designed for it will be self explanitory. Iphone appz were not really discussed people just “got” what they were and what they were for. They are life changing applications now with appz such as weight tracker or shopping appz which in some ways improve peoples lives. Philosophy can be built into the appz`s functionality but even without conciously putting it there it will be eveident in the final product. Audi for example has a philosophy of design and innovation which can be seen in any of its products. As Game Yeti says get the product nailed and the company brand/philosophy wil shine through.
