I’m not sure if this has been covered. A quick search didn’t reveal anything.
The topic kinda says it all… I’d like to know if there’s any info on networking two or more PCs together in order to lend grunt to a Lightmap render.
Obviously I’m hoping to take advantage of my render farm. If this means buying a client/server app I’m pretty sure it would still be worth it, given how long it takes to render some of these scenes.
Robert, if you like I could create a girl-child and marry her to you. For that would be fitting recompense for networking Beast. (although I can’t guarantee she won’t be ugly. I’m not very attractive)
Just don’t tell my wife. She’s a little weird about these things.
Btw, did you get enough information from that file figure out what was breaking Umbra?
Any news on this? Is it still planned?
Beast without rendering farm is a painfull endavor resulting in lesser light setups.
With studios filled in with computers it’s sad not to take advantage of sleeping cpu’s!
Would love to link two unity’s (same license of course - bleh!) via network to speed all this up. I know you guys at unity are overworked, but if it turns out to be fairly easy then go for it! imagine saying on the front page of the site - networked beast rendering for blazingly fast AAA quality lightmapping!
