Thats awesome

What if my computer has a virus? ROFL!

that’s not all it can do, by a damn sight - it can cure any disease, for example: The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs : The tablet is freaking us all out

Ha. Saw both that video and that article already. Funny stuff.

WHHHHhhaaaa hahahahah!!! HA HA HA HA WAHHHHH!!! HA HA ! ! !

I figured this might happen. So gross, and funnier, now that it actually happened.

=)

Can’t believe they picked that name. Absolutely horrible choice imo.

Wow. Jobs must have a really big [CENSORED]

Its actually exactly what I thought it would be… However, I was hoping they’d call it the iPod+

Well there was not much hope it would look different.
They spent all their creativity for the next 2 years already on itouch and unibody so no chance it could look differently than an itouch on steroids

So if it can run iPhone apps natively, does that mean they are all going to be ultra ugly lo-res? I wander what the UTech posse’ think about this…

AC

Why would they be when Unity renders all objects to fit the screen dimensions no matter what? Unity renders “a cube” not “a cube of 90 x 90 pixels.”

Because unless the app says it’s compiled for iPad, the “screen dimensions” will be reported to the app as 320 x 480. I agree that the code looks good to go, but if nothing else the trampoline project needs an update.

Unless you develop it specifically for the iPad, the app will run at normal iPhone resolution in the center of the screen, or you can double the size of the pixels to cover the screen and effectively make it look like crap.

Got it.

I’m looking forward to the potential of two player (on same machine) dynamics, too.

But, generally speaking, does this gadget do anything the iPhone doesn’t? I’m really surprised that I haven’t heard anything about it working as a drawing tablet. You’d think Apple would make that right away, as an included app. It’s a no-brainer.

I’m looking forward to making apps for kids on this thing. Drawing games with a wee bit of interactivity for parents who need to keep their kids busy for a while while they do whatever… apps that are educational enough to stimulate the brain. I definitely want to do that.

Me too, considering it was in the keynote.
The app is called “Brushes”. You can even use it right now, without the iPad.

No it’s not. Most of the power of a tablet comes not from the surface, but from the stylus. There’s a reason why most artists don’t rely on fingerpainting as their sole tool.

I need a link to a good youTube of that keynote speech. I want to hear about this.
