The new Unity Asset Store UI is nice. The fact that it intermittently shows up is annoying.
However, the reason I am posting is the lack of sorting and filter parity with the old UI. I don’t mind not adding new features that would really add value. But not having feature parity thus far into the new UI randomly popping up? It’s starting to really be a pain. I have to randomly hope to get the old UI so I can properly sort and filter to find what I want.
I’d rather have the old slow UI if parity isn’t going to be coming through any time soon.
All 4.5 to 4.74 assets are now hundred of pages back in ranking and not categorized in 5 star searches, this is around 5000 assets now massively downgraded and sent to die out with zero visibility.
This is not just a lack of parity, is a whole different store and a massive downgrade of all assets with 4.5 to 4.74 scores, which are not exactly useless as you make them look now, assigning them as 4 star ones.
An asset with 1000 reviews and 4.74 score is now thousand of assets behind ones with just 3 five star reviews in ranking and wont appear in a 5 star assets search either.
Essentially you just killed any complex asset development, as expecting to have above 4.75 to have any visibility and sales is not a realistic business model. Especially when a single 1 star review can drop the score way below that margin.
Talking about parity in this dire situation is not useful, as the concept does not apply.
New UI is frustrating with mobile device. There is filters for sections but I just can’t see sort feature in there. Haven’t seen it since this new UI came up.
So, it seems to have stopped happening. But I would navigate to the front page of the Asset Store. And then click New Assets. And it would take me to the old New Assets page. And then I would search and sometimes it would come up with the old asset store styles page. Sometimes the new one. Same
If I just performed a search from the homepage. Or if I clicked on Sale sometimes the page that would come up would be the old style, sometimes the new style. It happened randomly and made it difficult to navigate consistently.
As for what’s missing from my view for parity:
I can’t sort by Publish Date, Update Date, and I can’t filter out Purchased assets.
They are there now. They weren’t before. The UI also looks different now. It’s not rounded like the newer one was in search; only on the homepage. This solves it, but it wasn’t working that way for an extended period of time.
