New asset Store

Looks better, but still the same old slug when loading my assets.

Wow. I’m surprised I didn’t hear anything about them revamping it yet again, and it’s a huge improvement over the previous mess they had up there. I suddenly don’t have any problems with them discontinuing the old interface.

Still does the double/triple load for me, which means that even though this “looks nicer,” it’s still mired in the same old functionality issues.

I’m inclined to believe that’s the fault of the old asset store framework as when it’s initially loading you can see parts of the old interface at the top of the screen.

Unity’s whole webdev team sure is… something.

Because of this thread I revisited the new asset store and it’s better than the “old new” but white space minimalist design with no great visual hierarchy and zoning can die in a hell fire.

Meh I’ll probably just write a viewer script since I have just taken a crash course in webdesign

While this looks nicer than the last mess, I am still annoyed that all these changes still continue to happen without consulting the community despite a lot of the backlash received around most of them.

I dislike learning about these things from forum posts.

Anyone else feel the same way?

The beauty of statistics: you may not even know that they did. They have a large enough community to sample it.

You will have to accept it at some point that Unity, neither the app nor the service tools around it including the website, forums and store isn’t designed by committee of users. Your word, my word is only one word in millions. And that’s good. Although you’re a provider as well, you need to learn how to be a good client. It’s hard, I know, same here.

Much, much better! First screenful is beautiful.

However, the icons as I scroll down are too big. What’s the point of having four items in a category?

I still feel a bit like my nose is one inch from a product shelf.

I like the new asset store so much I just logged back on to Unreal.
