Hello,

we are working currently on a new assetstore since the unity assetstore is lacking features, speed, refund possibilities and other stuff. We thinking that unity should create a better way of selling assets.

Our framework will based on a serial number system similar like envato. All purchases will gain a unique serial number. During development the asset will ping and check the serial server in the background. Its not a bulletproof system since everything can be hacked, but at least its a little step to fight warez.

The Productpages will feature a WISH LIST. User can write a wished feature and other purchaser of the asset can vote if they want that feature. Developer then can decide to build this feature in. This is also work with upgrading the licence and developer can get a few bucks extra when they add new features. This is something the unity assetstore is missing and prevent developer for updating their assets constantly since once paid, ususally the asset owner get new features for free. Which might look nice but it hurt the developer and the possibility to develop further.

The assetstore will only take 1% from the selling price as a fee. No addtional costs. Money will be transfered daily to the developer. Developer can decide 100% their own prices. We might offer some price ideas but are not mandatory them.

Developer can decide if the asset can used for assetflipping. If not, due copyright the owner is forced to change the 3d models, sounds and sprites.

The assetstore will have a bugtracker for each asset. A Support forum and a livechat for support.

We also will offer tutorials per asset later. The developer can create extensive video tutorials for their assets (some free and paid) on a udemy similar environment.

The assets will be monitored. If assets are not working with last 3 unity versions or containing to much bugs, they will be removed. Something that unity assetstore is lacking too.

30 Refund. Is the asset does not what it promissed, we will offer a 30 days refund period. After that the asset cant be used since the serial get nulled.

This is interesting. As someone who constantly buys from the Assetstore I do like some of the stuff you are presenting here. Things like refunds Unity definitely needs to work on. There are times when I never get a respond from Asset Developers and I know Unity won’t refund it, or atleast give me it back into some sort of credit.

Hey, Thank you! Yes we are long-time unity asset buyer and the store is bad. Thats why we are planning something new. IF you dont mind, I add you to the closed beta test.
