New Beta release candidate

Hi guys,

can someone say when the active beta will be released as a stable release candidate version?
I’m asking because it features Sprite masking which I need for my new project. I want to avoid a complicated workaround as I know it comes with the new version.

No I already found this. The problem is that this unity beta versions keeps crashing randomly.
What I’m curious about is when this version will be released as final version, not a beta.
of course there is no fix date by now, but maybe some can give me his experience on this.

There’s no way to know when the next version will be released; it’ll be released when Unity deems it stable enough to distribute to all developers. It all depends on what features they’re adding, how many they’re adding and how many bugs they have to fix. I still can’t upgrade to 5.6 because of a bug introduced in 5.6 that Unity is fixing, but it passed beta stage.

So June is a good guess, but it could be early July as well.

Well, the Roadmap says “Stabilization in progress. Target : June 2017”.
