Ok so what’s this all about? I see a page of evangelists
(people who go around telling others how great Unity is?) and an Events page… but I’m not quite sure what the purpose of this new area is?

It’s for the Church of Unity. Now, can I get “AMEN?!”
AMEN!
To introduce them I guess. Evangelists are the guys who go to colleges or developer events (like a country’s equivalent of GDC) to promote Unity. I suppose the events page is to coordinate their activities.
Hire Tom Higgins. THE best. The guy who introduced me to Unity.
+1
We’re missing Tom !
Yes. Indeed.
This guy was more popular than David Helgason (I hope that was not the problem?!) himself. Hard work made and often on forums and puifff. He disappears. Licensed or not, because personal or not, i think we deserved more information about his absence…It is history now.
Sound like some evil conspiracy is behind all this. Better not dig up, or you might end…
well, it would be like microsoft 5 star programs, they have to evangelize to get the 4th star, still, it is a clever way to get more people learning about unity
I’m just not sure why a) it’s a public page on the site and b) it’s classified under community … community suggests unofficial business, so if these evangelizers are working for
Unity, so it would seem, that seems like it’s not the right fit? If it were open to us community persons signing up to become evangelizers in some manner, that would be different?
Met Carl Callewaert when he was in the city doing a Demo thing for us at NYU. He’s hysterical…and mighty good at spreadin’ the word.
I think he lives in an igloo way up in Canada. Maybe he’ll surface again when the road thaws. ; `)
… dupe post. forum burped.
I don’t see how a dadaist would be a good Evangelist…
Nah, they’re definitely community related. Their job is to make connections between other people who can help each other in Unity-related business as much as it is to spruik Unity’s wares. They’re also essentially Unity’s front line ambassadors with the community, since they’re the ones most often going out to trade shows and visiting studios and such.
I think that’s a nice and useful page: If you organize an event, you know who to contact - so that’s really useful and I think it makes sense to have it under community.
That said: I also really miss Tom!
