It’s not really changes as such, some users may have noticed and issue with being to edit their posts. We identified the problems as a style issue so we reverted to default to fix it ( and it has as far as we can tell) but this means there are some changes with that (some that we removed) but other we kept.
If anything funky is happening though, please let me know so I can get the website developer heroes know.
- Nice new forum icon
Can’t say I really like the new icon, seems overpowering for the page, the dark blue than the menu bar makes it seem like its more important, but its just an icon.
- Next thread/previous thread buttons at end of screen
Yep I like this, though not sure how much use it is, I rarely ever move back or forward through posts but jump around.
What I desperately would like to see is a repeat of the directory structure level (e.g. Forums → Unity Gossip → Thread Name) or a ‘back to top’ put at the bottom as those are both functionality I find I miss on this forum compared to others.
In general though its good to see they are evolving the forums.
The font doesn’t respond to “Never use font sizes smaller than…” in Safari. Since I use a higher resolution than average, this means the fonts are tiny and hard to read. I don’t know what’s happening where the fonts can’t be resized since no other websites have this issue. (Trying to zoom text doesn’t work either.)
Now the tiny font problem is infecting UnityAnswers too. Can you ask the web guys to please not do whatever diabolical hack they’re doing to prevent font sizing, it’s very annoying.
Hm, i dont get feedback if my post was successful when i report a spammer. It goes immediately back to the posting. Wasnt there a “your post was successful” message before?
Well the ‘reply’ font is also at the top title bar for me, so when I go on the forums the Unity site gets ugly. I’ve cleared the cache of my browser too.
Sorry it’s not been sorted, everyone has been away for the holidays and now the main person who deals with these issues is also away, I’ll try and get someone else to look at it.
