My first game was a scrolling shooter but for this one I wanted to do a bit more. I worked with one other guy on this he did the level design, testing, and some of the art work, while i did the scripting and the other artwork. over all it took us about two and a half months to finish.
The game is a mix of strategy and action. The different materials underground have different effects on your units. Rock slows them down, sand speeds them up, magma destroys them and the prisms cause them to switch direction. There are 25 upgrade levels for each of the six units as well as 12 achievement categories with 4 levels in each.
So far we have 50 levels but plan to add more along with some new enemies in the next few weeks.
You play as the guys underground. You control the launcher in the tunnel by swiping your fingers back and forth on the screen pressing the unit button launches one of the drills which takes the unit to the surface. You can launch the straight up or at a 45 degree angle. You cannot control them once launched, they just go in a straight line unless they hit the edge or a prism then they will change direction.
Your goal is to destroy the city on the surface. the city has some defenses on it they can be a sniper that does extra damage to your infantry, a cannon that does extra damage to vehicles, and a anti-air gun that does extra damage to your air vehicles.
The yellow blimp drops missiles that will do a lot of damage to you but you are able to block them by sacrificing a unit.
The red helicopter drops bombs down the tunnels made by your drills to close them and block more units from using the same hole.
Its sort of slow paced. you launch a wave of units and see what happens while watching for missiles from the blimp which don’t come often in the early levels.
I hope I answered your questions and made it a little more clear whats going on in the screen shots.
Thanks
