Amazing!! Was this done with no external plugins? Mad props.
Hello, thank you very much for your interest.
All Shaders in the game were written by us except for a few Skill FX. (We will replace them with our own Shaders in the near future.) This includes the Terrain Shader, which adapts to all dynamic natural conditions up to 64. Of course, we also wrote the Sea Shader so that it can adapt to an online synchronization. Ready-made 3D models were used at many points, our biggest advantage in the development process was the 3D models that were already purchased. In this way, by writing all the dynamics of the game one by one, we had the opportunity to go smoothly in case of any Engine update etc. We also wanted to offer our players an earlier and much fuller MMORPG game experience. No Custom Plugin was used.
The map completely uses our own Stamper plugin, we were able to create the 2016 km2 map thanks to the Height Maps obtained from outside. Again, there are many pieces of nature that we bought in the Quixel market, which is completely free for UE5 users. A small shout-out to Unity here, an engine that always makes the developers’ work easier would have been much more pleasing
Since there is a huge amount of technical content, feel free to ask any questions you may have. I will be happy to answer.
Hello,
any chances to get this on UE5 maybe?
And it will be similar to Conan Exile mmo with few players/server or a classic mmorpg with thousands?
Thank you & keep up the good work, looks great!
Hello,
Due to our team’s advanced mastery of Unity and the wide variety of Shader and Tool developments within the engine, it would be a waste of time for the game to switch to UE5 after this stage. As you know, there are some important differences between the two engines. I would like to give only performance and graphics quality as an example. On the one hand, there is an infrastructure oriented towards high end platforms, while on the other hand, we can play our game with a high number of players even on the lowest level platforms. Of course, due to the nature of an MMORPG, thousands of players will be on the same map. The server side is completely managed by our own custom TCP Gameserver. Also, thanks to this gameserver, we can host 40-50k players on the same server with extra channels. Here we also benefit from the size of our map and the distribution of players on the map since the beginning of the game.
Thank you for your support and interest.
