New iphone 3gs vs new ipod touch

Does anyone know if the new ipod touch has the same processor and graphics capabilities as the iphone 3gs ?

Yes and no…the “new” 8GB is the same as the old 8GB, just costs a bit less, but the other models are upgrades.

Also, you should be careful of what you write for the new iPod touch (32GB version and beyond), as it’s quite a bit faster than any other model. In other words, it shouldn’t be used as the base platform, otherwise your game could perform pretty poorly on lesser machines.

I offered a 32gb touch to my girlfriend.

As I own a 3G and a 3GS, I will make some perf comparisons of the same build over the 3 models, and post it here, if you are interested.

Funny that my game will play at many different speeds on iphone.

Don’t you think that unity should possibly have an testing system built into the remote to simulate accurate speeds of these different models?

No. While the editor does a great job of simulating the behavior of the device, there is not substitute for testing on the actual device.
