Yeah, it took off after 6 days after AddictingGames.com featured it on its frontpage. Still there and featured. I saw a peak today of 126 k plays of the game. Simply amazing. :slight_smile:

This game is awesome. Was hooked on it for days. Beat all the circuit races, and now I goof off in the Free Drive mode everyday. I registered here just to post this reply.

Just wanted to put a few things out there.

Why do the vehicles go faster in reverse? I have become addicted to making jumps in reverse (as hard as it is!). I have found the RAM heavy truck is by far the fastest, but since it’s so hard to control, I only use it in Free Drive mode for jumping.

And on the subject of making jumps in reverse, the game seems to have a problem with collisions at very high speeds. I have passed through obstacles (including the ground). There’s a certain jump I can make that causes me to hit the invisible barrier. If I hit it just right on the wheels, the vehicle will rocket up the wall in reverse and achieve great heights. I have gotten over 22k for the jumps I can make here, but about half the time I can make this happen, the vehicle passes through the ground and resets to default position with no money given for the jump. The RAM is the only vehicle I can do this with (on a side note).

Very nice job on the game. This is one of the best flash games I have ever played. I love the capabilities that Unity offers. I hope we see more great games in the near future using this engine. And please don’t take the things I pointed out as bad things. They have actually made me play the game more.

Regarding your questions:

  • The ultra high rear speed was first a bug, but then I let it in the game as it is actually a nice feature that you can do mega jumps in reverse mode. It is another trick to drive backwards over a jump and then press the cursor down key when the car hits the ground - you get an extra boost backwards.
  • Yes, there’s invisible barriers outside of the industry level to stop players from going further.
  • A good trick in freedrive is also to jump over the 2 connected big jumps and land on the roof of the car and let the time/cash counter go up infinite… :slight_smile:
