NEW PREFABS: Waterfall Volume Rain (UnityPrefabs.com)

NEW: Water FX Packs!

We asked you what prefab series you’d like to see next. And the Water FX Packs were the winner!
Ever since the birth of 3D games, water has been difficult to make. The movie industry was the first to succeed but game developers have a rougher challenge since water needs to look good in a split second on any machine rather than rendering one frame for 10 hours.
Well, those days are over. Our pro artists have created some stunning water FX packages (of which many will be released later).
Here’s two to get you started!

NEW: Waterfall (FX PACK)
With this stunning professional waterfall FX Pack, you can beef up your level in seconds. Splashes, steam at the bottom and moving water UV’s, it’s all included! All particles are tweakable, scalable and understandable. Get your pro-art fx today! more>> (New release discount lasts one week only!)

NEW: Volume RAIN (FX PACK)
It’s so easy to make in-game rain look really, really bad. Fortunately, our pro artists have crafted a masterpiece for your enjoyment. Realistic water that splashes on the ground right in front of your eyes with a slight hint of fog to make your scene drowsy and… well… wet. Awesome. more>> (New release discount lasts one week only!)

Here’s a little example of the waterfall implemented in Botumys’ fantasy level (the creator of our water packs → He’s amazing).

That’s all for this week!

Thanks to all those who got their copy already!
Let me know what else you’d like to see when it comes to particle fx prefabs!

A good blood effect (when you get by a bullet).

Particle flies/butterflies/bees swarming around with animated simple geometry would be great to enhance outdoor scenes.

I agree, such prefab would be useful for me, too.

A question about RainFX: do the particles collide with scene objects? So will they disppear n a rooftop let’s say, or fall inside the building?

Thanks for the ideas, guys!
Keep 'em coming!!

Add a ‘world particle collider’ to the rain and set the bounce factor to 0.
This will make the rain disappear when colliding with something in the world.
You can even tell it what collision layers to ignore.
I’ll record a video about this later.

Cheers,
-TT

That sounds awesome!

Noooooo! I thought it was just $9.99 like yesterdayish?!?!?!

That sucks, wish I could buy the waterfall. ;(

Hey Tornados,

What a great looking waterfall you have there.
I guess you will need Unity-Pro for using it?
If so, maybe better to make mention of it.

All the best,

Robert

No, the waterfall will work just fine in any version of Unity!
Might slow down the iPhone a bit though, but Pro is not required in any case

we released the rain pack at the same time for a discount price of 9,99usd, the discount price for the waterfall is 19,99 till Friday - that’s when it goes up to regular standing

Oh, that interesting and confusing at the same time.
I thought I saw a bitmap with alpha working on that waterfall, so I’m probably wrong and its all particles then?

Regards, Robert

Yeah it’s just a matter of what shader you pick, but shaders w alpha (even custom shaders) are also supported in the Indie version

Groeten van een oud Hollander

TT

cool thanks for the new prefabs.

Oh wow, that great!
I mixed this up with the lack of reflection in the free version, this serves me well since i can now tackle a problem differently.
Thanks for mentioning this.

Nou, zeker de groeten terug, ik heb erg genoten van de sappige verhalen over hoe jullie bij de ING binnenkwamen; als er meer van dat soort te vertellen is horen we het graag.

All the best, Robert

Is this waterfall pack still available anywhere? The links take me to a website under maintenance.

I don’t think their site is under maintenance, most web developers would use a landing page, this looks more like they do not have the site anymore, there is no site located at that domain at all.
