I am just dropping a note to make you all aware that I have made a few price adjustments to a couple of my store items. I have also adjusted some prices on my website and am running specials on a few of them also so drop on by and grab yourself a bargian
Meh… maybe… yeah… But I always considered the Asset Store section to be where you ANNOUNCE your complete projects and then discuss it in there. The idea of adding a new thread each time I have something to say about one of my kits feels like spamming…
Since this DOES have something to do with the Asset Store but it ALSO has to do with my own shop I figured I’d rather place it in a “general purpose” category, rather than spamming the Asset Store section with a post that announces nothing new…
@MrDude,
The Asset Store forum section it’s for anything related to assets and stuff you want to sell to Unity community. Also you’ll have better chances to sell your assets in that section.
PS: It doesn’t need to be “just released assets”, work in progress stuff that will be available for sell it’s good, discount, price changes, etc.
Well okay then. If you feel so strongly about it I’ll make sure to use that section next time
Personally, though, when I released a new package last week, I had a look in that section a few hours later and found my asset was already nearing the bottom of the second page (after a few hours) but the first page had various other stuff in there like discussions of packages etc. It felt worse than the App Store where you had 1 day of being noticed then you get lost in obscurity… Rather pointless announcing stuff in there then, really…
I know I was pissed off at only having an hour or two in which people get so see my new release before it faded into nothingness so I figured I wouldn’t do the same to others. Never expected me trying to consider others in my actions would actually result in someone telling me “Nope. That was wrong of you”
Aww well, now I know. Now I am older and wiser and will use correct sections in future
By the way, “Hello” Been ages since I’ve said hello to you lolz
Threads fade away and then they get bumped back, so what’s the problem?
I mean sure, it is annoying to post a product that took lots of time and effort to make and see that nobody seems to give a shit.
But i’m getting an impression that devs here are mostly interested in scripts, addons, shaders, utilities and whatnot.
Unless your pack is exceptional or really useful it’s impossible to get recognition without bumping the thread.
Even high quality packs from well known publishers don’t always get more than few replies during first few days.
So it’s not like it changes anything if you don’t post about you discounts there.
other threads will push new release threads down anyway.
It’s the same for freelance section. people bump their threads all the time cos that’s the only way to get noticed.
