I just submitted a new price, $14.99 for the pack. Not sure how long it’ll take to update, it took two weeks to get approval on the pack. Hopefully a price change will be quicker. There’s no way I can repay the time I had into it at this point but it’s more of a test anyway. I’ve had to rethink all the upcoming packs and will be adjusting the prices down. In the end it may not be worth the time but I still plan to release a dozen packs this year. If they don’t sell I guess that will be the end of that but it was worth a try. VR is heating up and I may be switching back to film by the end of the year either way. I had to shelve the embankment pack until I figured out what to do but I’m back on it and should have it submitted for approval on Monday.
Here’s a link so keep checking to see when the new price is posted for Skull Lovers.
Smart decision.
You never know if you will recoup time spent on the pack. At half the price - your sales may double, so you may end up getting as much as you had originally planned.
Wow - a dozen packs before 2016. Thats a lofty goal. Good luck. I’m guessing you do this full time.
Keep it up.
Good news, they approved the new price same day. It’s good to know that I have some flexibility in the pricing.
At this stage I’m not sure how many packs I’ll be making period. My goal was to generate one a week and now that I have the process down I’m sure I could do it. The problem is I don’t think the sales will ever make it worth the time so it’s being relegated to a spare time project and my spare time may be about to vanish. I had some very successful VR tests and I’m getting prepared to dive into a rather massive project that will keep my machines busy so even if I have time I likely won’t have computer time. I was hoping to make enough to upgrade equipment by the end of the year but I seriously doubt that at this point. Also my plans got accelerated on the next film. The market still feels small for game models where as the market is exploding for VR content.
I still hope to submit the embankment pack in the next few days but I’m working night and day prepping models for the VR project. I’ll try to finish up some of the packs I already started but at this stage animated characters are shelved. Too much to sort out and I just don’t have the time now. Video game models are fun but selling a few packs here and there doesn’t begin to cover the time invested.
We’ll see how things go with the first few packs but if they don’t sell that’ll be the end of my game model experiment.
