Hello, I'm brand new to Unity. While trying to create a new project there are no packages to import in the "Import The Following Packages" part of the panel. Is this normal? I just installed Unity yesterday so it's a fresh install. Several tutorials I've seen say include the standard package so I'm guessing I'm stuck until I can do that. Thanks!
You can access the Asset Store (CTRL + 9) and import the standart packages from there using the download button on the top left side of the asset store window.

You could use the menu "Assets/Import Packages ... ". The standard package (among others) is located in the Unity program folder.

I had the same problem on MAC.
I moved ‘Unity’ out of ‘Unity’ folder so I could have access to it straight from ‘Applications’ folder.
The problem vanished after I put it back, so it could be back together with ‘Standard Packages’ folder.
