I had an app in review that got approved but ended up having something incorrect in its information, so I removed it from sale. After a month of sorting out the correct information with Apple, I put the app back up. Of course, it was not listed in the new apps or the top anything, so nobody can find it unless they have a direct link.
Today, an update for the app got approved. I was under the impression that this would put the app back into the new releases section, but I still don’t see it. Is there some trick to getting an app update to show up in the new releases? Do I need to pull it from sale before the update is approved and set a new release date or something?
On the iTunesConnect site there should be an Edit Information button for each app in the Manage Apps page - that’s where you can update the release date, price, etc. I usually update the release date for a new version as soon as I get the approval notification.
I am aware of that setting, but changing that date doesn’t seem to push existing programs back into new releases (updates or otherwise). Probably for the best though, because otherwise people would be setting their apps as a new release daily.
Easiest thing to do is setting the release date far enough in the future. after it has been approved you can still correct the date to be exactly where you want it to be.
