All this will be done in time but the extras menu is going to take much longer than anything else.
I will post screenshots and videos, progress reports and and additional info necessary to maintain a smooth gameplay.
Any help providing assistance will be greatly appreciated and your name will go directly into the credits.
Thanks guys
My problem isn’t that this is a clone. I’m all for recreating the best game mechanics (to an extent). My problem is that it is a total rip off. From the information above, it is going to be Slender. No be like Slender, but be Slender, just with the ability to customize a few aspects of the game.
That is what led to my totally serious, and not sarcastic comments about this being a clone.
Seriously, a good IP is good…but we’re in the business of creativity, and I mean that in the most literal sense. If you want to recreate something as a personal project that will never see light of day directly, OK. That’s justifiable; you want to improve your skills - nothing wrong with that! But to publicly rip off someone else’s good IP dosen’t just show that you’re not even trying, you could get in a bit of trouble doing it (or at least get slapped with a Cease Desist Order if your work gets too far along.)
To the OP, I offer this challenge: You like the Slenderman theme. Try this - create a horror game along only similar lines. Change the characters, and add a twist that the Slenderman series does not provide players. Don’t just scare our undies off; make us think about how you scared our undies off, such that it leads to a Recursive Algorithm of Undie Scared-Offiness.
Your current theme is already dead in the water. If you want to keep it as a prototype, no worries. But go public with something a bit more original. I’m fairly sure you do have it in you, otherwise you likely wouldn’t have taken the time to download Unity in the first place. You’re better than a copycat; now, you just have to prove it to all of us.
