About a year or two ago i downloaded unity3d and learned how to do mostly everything on it. My only problem is that i cannot write a script, and i have no programming history.
What are some resources i could use to learn a language like C#? A book, a website, a video series, anything.
Learning to code can be achieved through multiple mediums. If you have the patience and self discipline, a book is a good choice. A real teacher is generally best though, as you can actively learn and ask questions about anything you don’t understand. These forums also have a teaching section full of text and video based tutorials. See my signature.
Unity has a learn section with various tutorials aimed at beginners. These are all C#
Berg Zerg Arcade have quite a few tutorials http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE5C2870574BF4B06
Quill18 Creates http://www.youtube.com/user/quill18creates
RealityFluxStudios http://www.youtube.com/feed/UCqnKbFpG7cBZt2s3ZUS2Jeg/u
3DBuzz also have some http://www.3dbuzz.com/training/topic/unity?resetFilters=False
Thank you, i just saw the learn section earlier today but wanted to see if there were any other sources, and i used 3DBuzz to learn everything i know about unity and 3dsMax
I believe i have the patience for a book but i don’t know of one that can teach me from scratch, most say “For readers with experience in programming” plus im in 10th grade so i dont have time nor the ability to find a real teacher.
Grab a few beers for this.
Hey, I recommend the Head First C# book if you’re looking for a good book to go through. It is pretty interactive and encourages you to work out problems on your own which I think is good. It is also very visual with lots of pictures so it isn’t too much of an eye sore to read.
Good luck!
