New to unity but also growing headache to unity.

Well i downloaded trial version unity and like any one became over whelmed with unity with what to do so i started few tutorials and dam some are nasty i don’t mean hard i mean nasty not explaining what to do just like this thread “what the hells he/she going on about” well before commencing on design i wanted to familiarize my self with tools and so on it’s been 2 months and i kinda placed some tutorials on hold. so i went with “car” tutorial im at the point thinking is it me or dam software buggy as hell, did i misinterpret something.

Ive done 3 different tutorials regarding cars and not once did dam thing move, imported a car from various places and stil dam thing didn’t move.

While unity’s tutorial worked but then didn’t resulting in me starting all over again.

All i want to know is what’s the cuplrit. im guessing wheel colliders, if i can make box move with 4 wheels then i can make a real car move with logic but i cant even move box.

1 car
2 rigid body
3 wheels
4 wheel colliders with optional various settings suspension ect
5 camera fixed to car
6 script for car, at this point i started going over scripts thinking whats screwing everything up
7 raised car off ground
8 tested it, car didn’t move.

So i tested this on 3 different tutorials no luck.

So can any one help. oh yeah if wheel colliders go horizontal rather vertical does that mean it’s unity 3.4 or what ever it’s called could this be error or something because if i import a car and align wheel colliers up with actual wheels modeled they go horizontal green circular shapes rather vertical i cant correct them if i do the wheels become incorrect really love to know why dam cars not moving.

I was excited before now my head hurts since im new it becomes difficult working it out.

When i work this out im slapping my face until then no luck, help would be commendable.

Do you not think you should follow some tutorials before you tackle the most advanced possible physics you can do in unity? Certainly, making a car isn’t too hard in unity, but at your current experience it would qualify as advanced usage of physics.

First, I would recommend you follow all these tutorials:

http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/69938-Unity-3-Video-Training-Course-(FREE)-Walker-Boys

These tutorials are not nasty or hard. If you think they are too difficult, then I suggest you move on, because it doesn’t get easier.

Oh dear lord i worked it out, i didn’t define wheels to car script. but still ill follow those tutorials. it drives strange but yeah i cant believe i worked it out.

Is there way to accurately correct each wheel. like auto function. 4 wheels with different scales extremely time consuming.
