Alright, looking good so far. one little issue. I have c4d 10.5 and was getting this message, so not sure if there’s an issue or not because it’s such an easy work around. Besides, it’s much faster to export as an .fbx from C4d, than to go through Unity’s conversion. (see attached screen grab). AND, it should read at the bottom, “You need at LEAST Cinema 4d 8.5 to import .C4d files directly.”
But, hey, you wouldn’t want to hear my Danish, so that’s not bad…
Can you elaborate a bit more on what the issue is? This post seems incomplete, where’s the screenshot you refer to?
jeeze what a goof. sorry about that.
when I opened Unity 2.5 for the first time, it started C4d to import a small model in the current level we’re working on. Then I got this message, “C4d couldn’t convert…try manually”. When I double-clicked on the c4d model in the project file, to examine it further (with c4d still open), it re-imported it just fine. (btw, love the new inspector info arrangement!) Usually, I export from c4d as an .fbx and have no problems whatsoever. I just happen to save the original c4d file in the assets folder.
Can you please log a bug about that? Should be short and simple and it can be done via the Help menu. Just get it submitted as posting here isn’t going to do much for us but logging it gets it into our system so we have it noted for future repair.
Thanks!
