Congradulations on the book! Anyone can write a book and sell it for what ever they want without a publisher, there is no rule stating you have to use some publisher for your books, on top of that, you can outsource to publishing companies for dimes on the dollar if you really want, depending on if you want a hard copy or not. I can think of several publish companies that are digital only and charge an annual fee to post/house your book and sell it for you including having a book review section.
Hi there AbsoluteBreeze, we have just added a newsletter subscription page to our website. We will be sending out a newsletter with launch dates and more information on the book!
I’m looking at a book showing advanced scripting techniques (pref. in c#), as I’m using Unity in my daily work, and already have beginners books, would yours fit to my expectations ?
The book is definitely for beginners who have an understanding of how a programming language should work. It doesn’t go into massive detail about IF… ELSE, FOR, etc etc, but assumes a basic understanding. So it’s not for absolute beginners. It’s more for people like me, who understand basic syntax and control structures, iteration etc, but have not seen or done any practical work with them in a programming language. I only received the book yesterday, and want to finish the walker boys tutorials first, but it looks like it will be complementary to what I have learnt from them.
Very cool! however the 2 books about unity (including this one) seem to be introductory. I wonder when we’ll see something like “Unity3d Black Belt” where you get exposed to the really cool/secret stuff. then again, that’s what the forums are for, but it’d still be cool to have all/a lot of someone’s experience in a single book.
