New Unity3D dungeon game out

Hi Unity-Community,

As some of us have been around in the forums here, some of you might probably have noticed that we have been developing a game the last months called Dungeon Empires by using Unity 3D. As the game has been released a few weeks ago, I would like to invite you to have a look at it: Click to get to the play site

Some more information about the game can also be found in a review of mpogd: http://www.mpogd.com/news/?ID=8499

The next weeks and months will be used to polish the game and to develop an add-on for it. Besides we are busy developing a second game, also using the Unity 3D engine. If you have any feedback for us, we would love to read it and to have it in mind for our future developments, thank you very much!

More about the game in short:

The game is called Dungeon Empires, which has been developed as a free-to-play massively multiplayer browser game in 3D by a small German developer team from Limbic Entertainment. In this game players build their dungeons from a variety of room styles, fixtures and elements to attract creatures and make them feel at home. Creatures that can be summoned include such denizens as giant rats, skeletons and trolls all the way to huge dragons. Each creature must be well-cared for, because they will repay the favor with increased motivation and effectively.

Players can also create their own hero to raid other players’ dungeons. With each increase in level, the hero will receive stat points that can be invested in skills and spells. Players can create a license for their hero and send it to friends so that they can take the player’s hero out on raids with them.

The English service of the game just began last month and with the game just out of beta and all the accounts set back to zero, it’s a good time to jump in.

Thank you!

Awesome Awesome. Art works looks nice and now trying to play. And it looks pretty nice too.

Awesome work!!
I registered to check it out, however, would be really great if I could try it without (or before) the registration.

Ok… I played the game for some time and i’d like to give a feedback:

PROS

  • Turn based fights were really great
  • Nice visuals (despite some creatures that seems to be ripped from warcraft, maybe it was a reference for you guys)
  • Nice level editor
  • The tips on the beggining were nice, they should be more direct, “to do this, click on that button”

CONS

  • It runs sloooow (about 10 fps) on my Macmini: Core2Duo 2Ghz, 2GB DDR2, Chrome, OSX 10.6.7, onboard GMA 950 64MB
  • The mouse sensitivity is way too fast, not sure if it’s because my framerate.
  • The loading took a lot of time, is there a way to reduce the loading times? You guys are working in a game for browsing, would be nice to keep the assets smaller or add a progress bar. My downstream is ~ 1.8mb/s
  • On character creation, the skin color changes the face.

The game really looks promising! You guys just need more time to work on improvements and a good marketing work =]
Congrats!

Hey you two,

Thank you very much for your feedback and the gratulations!

We will work hard the next weeks to improve the game experience!

Thanks,
Limbic

Maybe you want to work on the trailers as well, they are horrible.

Looks like a lot of work has gone in to this, artwork looks great and content deep. That elf-devil must be the most promiscuous looking fantasy cover girl i ever saw.

awesome, finally a game that has done the dungeon master thing the right way.

Sieht richtig gut aus! Auch der Trailer, werds mir auf jeden Fall besorgen
