I disabled the legacy analytics and converted to the beta a few days ago. Since then, new user retention has been at 0% for the past 3 days. It might make sense for the first day if everyone was treated as a new user if records weren’t converted over correctly, but second day should have been above 0% at that point.
@emrys90 Can you share a screenshot where you are seeing new user retention? What was your typical legacy retention?
I was typically seeing a day 1 retention of around 30% in the legacy analytics. For March 31st it has a retention of 0%. I thought it was at 0% for March 30th earlier, either I am misremembering or its now calculated? Does this data have a delay in being updated?
As a sidenote, it would be very useful to have the feature of the legacy analytics that showed which days data is still in progress, as its unclear what timezone the days are shown for.
Are you using the beta dashboard or legacy reports? There should be no delay. Please send me the URL you are now using in a private message.
@emrys90 I received your link, we are checking. What day did you enable the beta?
@emrys90 Also, when did you publish a new version of your game? Users with the old version using legacy Analytics would not be tracked until they upgraded their game to be using the beta version, if you turned off legacy Analytics. Users typically can keep using the prior version of the game and may not upgrade for some time. This may help: Upgrade from Legacy to UGS Analytics
We published a new version of the game on 3/29 with the beta analytics. We force players to update to the latest version to be able to play, as its a multiplayer game with servers.
Understood, we are checking here.
Thank you for looking into it
Have you had a chance to look into this? It seems like it might always be a few days behind, the last day now with any data on it is 4/04.
Yes, we have identified the issue and working on a fix. No ETA, but definitely before we move out of beta in June
Are you able to confirm if the data is accurate, but just delayed by a few days? Or?
Hi emrys90. We took a look at it, it seem the data on that graph (New Player Retention) is delayed by a day. It would be normal that the last day is always 0 for 1 day retention (and the same goes for the last 7 days and 7 day retention and so on). The way our query is getting the data seems to be shifting the data by a day for that one but if you wanted to get a more accurate figure you can check in the Data Explorer Tool and set up a report like this one.
I hope the workaround helps while we are still working on fixing the graph in the dashboard.
Okay thank you!
