Newbie looking for Tutorials

Hello, all.
I’ve recently decided to take up designing. I’ve got no prior experience, I’m learning everything from the ground up. I’m also, unfortunately not very good when it comes to these things, but I feel I have to do this. I would benefit from some guidance though.

http://www.gamedev.net/reference/design/features/makegames/ This article here suggests that you should really start with basics, and I’m fine with that. The first suggestion is to try and create a Tetris clone.

Now I know there’s a 2d Tutorial for Unity, and I downloaded it to try and follow the instructions. It went ok, but I feel that it would be better for me if I really started with Tetris. Do any of you know of any such tutorials (how to create a Tetris clone in Unity) around the web? Or would any of you be able to perhaps write up such a Tutorial…? Though that’s probably a bit too much to ask coming from a newbie.

Any help, tips, hints or links are very appreciated.

Well, sorry to ask, but couldn’t you consult the Lerpz tutorial first?

I found it quite helpful to start off with, and I think it ran through things quite well for me.

Sure I could (I actually plan to!), I just thought that in the article I linked a platformer is only the fourth kind of game that I should attempt to make. I thought that I should do this ‘by the book’ (by the article, to be precise), and take a few steps back first.

I made some very basic videos here

Thank you, Roland, will definitely have a look!
