I’m new Unity user. Just wanted to say a warm felt “Hi!” to y’all!
Quick intro: for my current day job I work as a 3D tech programmer (for a certain game series that involves a certain big breasted “archeologist”). While these big projects do have their upsides, I long to be involved in smaller projects and do more than just write code all day.
Hence, I’ve decided to pick up Unity and work out some game ideas of my own. My first game will be a “bite sized” adventure game. Something you can finish in 30-45 mins, in lieu of watching an episode of Lost. Incidentally, that’s also about the time I needed to get my first prototype up and running in Unity - so far, I’m impressed!
Anyway, I’m hoping to learn lots from all you veterans out here and, perhaps, contribute some insights of my own.
do not try…padowan but do!..sorry about the Starwars reference don’t get out much me…if you ever get mega stuck just drop me a message and will try and help… the community on the whole are a pretty good Bunch…
I really normally dont click the forum link on most any site and expect to find a worthwhile community.
I was really suprised by Unity’s and I am sure you will find it a collection of very smart and helpful individuals (as well as some smart@$$'s sprinkled here and there )
With all these "welcome"s you must be feeling all nice and warm inside already, huh
I just thought I’d add to that a little more… You must have noticed this already, but the folks in here truly are top notch. Makes it kinda hard to get any work done. Ya just wanna hang out in here most of the time…
Anyways, Welcome, welcome, welcome
Hey, Higgy, are you guys gonna give away Pro license to the 1,000,000th person to join? 8)
Look at that… Only 10 posts and he has already helped me out…
See I have this theory that the Unity blokes don’t like me. As it is, I am the only person on this entire forum who has problems with submitting his posts. I sometimes have to hit the submit button up to 20 times and even have to log back in twice before my post is accepted… I only just now realized that the unity blokes REALLY don’t like me and they are doing this to me on purpose…
Here is how I came to that conclusion:
I was about to suggest to you:
“It’s called double posting. It will cut that requirement down to only 4455 right there. So just hit Submit twice ”
That was when I realized they are doing it to me on purpose to prevent me from double posting. That was when I realized they are doing it to me on purpose to prevent me from double posting…
