I just tried upgrading as in the title, and the Editor stops playing all audio. Even when I just try to play an audio sample from the inspector - so not in play mode.
Clean git clone to of code 2022.3.8f1. Open project from unityhub and audio works fine
Upgrade to 2022.3.10f1, no audio.
Shut down unity editor (and background processes). Clean git clone back to 2022.3.8.f1. Open project from unityhub and audio is fine again.
Note that I am on linux.
This problem is also present in 2022.3.11f1
On Ubuntu 22.04 - with Unity Editor 2022.3.11f1, I can easily replicate it by creating a clean URP 2D project, adding a sound file, and trying to play it from the inspector. I get no audio.
with Unity Editor 2022.3.8f1, with the same steps I do get audio.
ok… so I reported a bug, which was marked as duplicate which is fine…
The link to the issue is here: Unity Issue Tracker - [Linux] No audio output when playing audio
I did search before raising a bug… The bug listing doesn’t show up when I search the issue tracker for the exact title of the bug using this link Search - Unity
next time I will rely on google for searching for the bug.
On a positive note - this issue has made it into known Issues for the latest 2022.3 and 2023.3 releases.
But now it has disappeared from the known issues… sigh…
