Sorry if this has a really obvious answer but my attempts at googling were futile. I’ve only got one directional light in my scene and it’s not producing any normal map bumps. I guessed it’s because its rendering in vertex shading and not per pixel shading, like spot and point lights. I cant see anywhere to switch the lights rendering method, though I’m using the free version of unity if that makes a difference.

-Update- Sorry its not to do with the directional light, I think its to do with the lightmaps. When I have the lightmaps turned on the normal maps bumps disappear. Is that normal?
