Okay, so I’ve had Unity now for about a year and I’ve never had the time to sit down and work with it and Today is the first day of my two-week inter-term break and I really wanna get stuck into this. I want to be a game developer but have no skills in the field as of now. I found a decent looking basics tutorial on YouTube, watched it once and then restarted it to follow it through. I got to a point where the video maker imported the asset packages. I went to Assets>Import Packages and saw that there was no character controller (which, well, completely stopped me from being able to make a game, of course). So I came here looking for an answer on where to find a character controller. The discussion I read said that I had to reinstall the standard assets pack. Half an hour later it had imported and was ready to use. I reopened Unity and looked for Character Controller, but again, it wasn’t there. Another option the discussion answer-er suggested was reinstall Unity itself. I have neither the time nor the bandwidth to do this and my patience is beginning to run thin. I think Unity is a great program but I’m so over not being able to use it because I can’t figure things out and don’t have the hours or the resources to sit down and sort one little problem out before I can even start making a game. PLlease help me, I’m trying to be as polite as possible and I’m sorry if i’m being rude but I’m extremely frustrated. Any help will be much appreciated
It has been replaced with the characters package. I had the same issue as you for a long time XD. Good luck developing with Unity.
