Hi!
My new 2060 super OC dual arrived yesterday and I just installed it. Imagine my surprise when there was no difference in frame rate between the new card and my old EVGA 1070 which is not overclocked. The FPS of the VR (Vive) app I’m developing in Unity average EXACTLY the same between the two cards. Am I missing something really obvious in terms of setup of the new card. I’m using Tweak 2. I wasn’t expecting a drastic difference. I just wanted a 10% jump or so. Both cards run my app at an average of 85 fps. I’d really like an average of 95 fps and 7ms of latency to ward off motion sickness.
test with more software, using FPS on a single app is no way to test Hardware.
Agreed. Having said that, it’s the performance of the app that is my focus. I need to figure out why it behaves so similarly on a GPU that is quite a bit faster than the 1070.
Do you have vsync on? Project Settings->Quality->Vsync Count
I have two PC’s at my studio, one has two 2080TIs intalled and the other has two 1070s installed.
I don’t see much difference between the two systems when developing my Unity games…Both run Unity very well. But neither of my games are graphically dense.
However the difference is largely obvious when I use other software such as Blender Cycles rendering, where the dual 2080s are nearly 4x faster than the dual 1070s!!!
