Hello… I know this is a old problem but it is wired in my case… so when I click on my UI it triggers my Script for jumping truth the UI (normal touch) There are two soutions for this: 1
if (EventSystem.current.IsPointerOverGameObject())
return;
that has to be in the script that should not run if I click in the UI it works on my Editor(even whith touch[i have a touch laptop]) but on my android device it does not work… same problem for second solution which is just adding a phisics raycast to the main camera works on my Laptop but not on mobile
pls help
Beyond that, to help gain more insight into your problem, I recommend liberally sprinkling Debug.Log() statements through your code to display information in realtime.
Doing this should help you answer these types of questions:
is this code even running? which parts are running? how often does it run? what order does it run in?
what are the values of the variables involved? Are they initialized? Are the values reasonable?
Knowing this information will help you reason about the behavior you are seeing.
You can also put in Debug.Break() to pause the Editor when certain interesting pieces of code run, and then study the scene
You could also just display various important quantities in UI Text elements to watch them change as you play the game.
If you are running a mobile device you can also view the console output. Google for how on your particular mobile target.
Here’s an example of putting in a laser-focused Debug.Log() and how that can save you a TON of time wallowing around speculating what might be going wrong:
oh sorry for bad explanations my english is not so good. Everything has to work becasue it is fixed in my Editor when i add one of these but not on adroid. My code is running and I am using Debug.Log for every feature I add maybe it is more clear what my problem is if I send a video that schould fix it. Which it does on my Laptop in Editor …but not on android https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVZiv7DLU6E
