I think this is new in 5.5 but there is no info in the manual about it.
That’s a good point. I’ll create a bug for the docs team.
The documentation mentions auto detection of the GPU. Is there a list somewhere?
Or am i supposed to set the tier level through code?
@Graham-Dunnett , there’s info in the scripting reference about TierSettings, but it doesn’t say anything about where to get them.
I think the page could mention the EditorGraphicsSettings.Get/SetTierSettings methods.
By the way, those methods both have an old, deprecated version and a new version. It’s the deprecated one that’s documented. That should probably be updated!
Still missing in docs: Unity - Manual: Graphics
I have no idea what this tier stuff is that has appeared but seems to be related to shaders, but do the cascade settings override the graphics quality settings? Makes no sense
Also seems like ‘Graphics settings’ should be called ‘Shader settings’ as relates to nothing else - the Quality settings are really the graphics settings…
2 months and still no docs… And they post in the blog how well are doing… ![]()
Yeah it’s pretty insane that there seams to be this new graphics tier system built into Unity yet no information anywhere regarding it. I’m super keen to try it out ![]()
