No More Automatic Upgrades?

Hi,

I have a 2019.2.8 project I’d like to open with the latest 2019.2.13. Being the same major release number, I’d think it a small task to do so. In the past, if it was a major version number, i. e. that after the year, it might pop up upon opening with a warning with an “I made a back-up, go ahead” button, then run an upgrade script.

The hub just seems to refuse to open it with any other option than to install 2019.2.8 in parallel, which I’ve done to proceed temporarily.

Do late versions no longer come with this support? If not, is there some other way to upgrade that I’ve missed in both the Hub and Editor?

Thanks

In short yes, you can have multiple of Unity installations.

Using Hub, you can have multiple Unity versions and multiple project versions, for different Unity.
So if migration to new version fail for any reason, breaks something etc., then you alwasy can work with original project, before upgrade on previous Unity version. Then look into future Unity releases, and check if issues are resolved. Then go ahead with project Upgrade.
