No offline documentation?

I’ve been reading the doc online from may notebook, it’s too slow for unity and my working pc is offline. There are a lot scripts to play around with in the docs that I’d like to copy and paste. I’ve already checked the posts where the offline manual is supposed to be but that either has changed in 5.3 or it’s not installed anymore.

So where can I get the offline doc for 5.3?

I believe the documentation is an option in the new installer for 5.3 that is unchecked by default. Not sure if running the installer again and only checking the documentation will be enough, but worth a shot.

Why can’t the doc just have a download button like every online doc out there on the www… Isn’t there another option? I don’t want to overwrite my existing files.

I just checked the installer there is no radiobutton for the docs.

Oh yeah?

You are using the download assistant. My working pc with windows is offline and my notebook is running ubuntu.

thx!

Is there any way to find out what “web address” is the installer using to download the checked items in “unity online installer” so that one could download it directly ?

No method that I am aware of. You can download some of the packages from the archive page though.
