No pulldown-menu on multi-monitor usage

I’ve just started using Linux (Ubuntu 14.04.3) for testing purposes, thanks to Unity having it’s Linux engine ready.

On my main PC I’m using 3 monitors and the testing PC that’s currently running Linux along with Unity I’m only using 2 monitors. For this I have copied my current project to Linux and play along a bit.

The problem comes when I fire up Unity and have my 2 monitors each with their windows shown. On the main monitor I have the Unity editor and on the alternate monitor I’ve dragged the Scene, Inspector & Console tabs. I can work normally in Unity, but when I want to get my pulldown menus from the top they’re not showing up. I have to either switch to an other program (like FireFox right now to write this), or maximize the Unity Editor (and optionally restore it again to it’s original size), only then I’ll get my pulldown menus to show up.

I’m also having similar issues with MonoDevelop. Though the pulldown menus do show up, I can not use them (both clicking and hotkey usage), but instead it’ll kinda ‘tab in and out’ of the current file I’m editing.

[EDIT] To clarify - when I installed Unity for Linux and I first started it, on the 1 monitor the editor did have the pulldown menu as it should The problem with MonoDevelop was there already…

Thanks, we’ll investigate.

Thanks!

I’ve been playing a bit more with it, and this problem seems to be an Ubuntu desktop problem. I’ve given the LXDE desktop a try and there all works well (aside from the fact that my monitors are shuffled around…)
