Node-IPC compromised, any relation to Unity?

People may or may not know there was a recent drama involving some out of control contributor ( Putting it mildly here because of the nature of this forum ) taking it upon himself to inject malicious code and I didn’t realise initially that this could end up affecting me. I’m not using any Russian servers or anything thankfully but I was concerned and thought I’d make a thread, I backup my work regularly anyway and I haven’t noticed anything strange but I use both Discord and Unity.

Has the Unity staff caught onto what’s going on? Is this affecting Unity in any way? would appreciate it if the mods at least could find out what’s going on and issue a potential warning because this is a developing situation. It looks like people are going to be persuing a legal case against him.

TLDR: Politically motivated user injected malicious code into a certain github contribution which may or may not be related Unity/Discord and I just wanted to double check what was going on. The code apparently tracks your I.P address and if it’s from Russia or Belarus then it wipes your hard drive.

Yes, UnityHub got pwned.

Thanks, should have checked there first, good thing I turned off auto-update because I was getting annoyed at the spam anyway.
