Non Overlapping Transparency

Hi, I am playing around with blend modes to see if I can manage to achieve an effect. I have two transparent quads and when they overlap, the overlapping area adds their alphas, see;

My two white planes with some alpha.

The two planes overlapping, resulting in a less transparent section in between.

I am looking for a way in which the overlapped section would look as follows…

Desired result without overlapping.

Is this achievable by playing around with blend modes or must I take other considerations into account?

Thank you all in advance and have a nice weekend =)

In this specific case, you can probably use BlendOp Max. More complex behaviours require different treatment depending on what other cases you want to handle, and what should happen in each case.

Tried that, but still wont do. It makes sense that BlendOp Max should do the trick but it doesn’t

Sorry for the late reply, been kinda busy

In what way doesn’t it work?
