hey unity! so i aplied the normal map to my terrain and it doesnt show the effects of the normal map unless there is light shining on it. and the problem is i cant just add a light because i need my map to by on the darker side. its not taking place in daytime. how can i fix the withought adding a light
Sounds like you just depending on ambient light to “light” your scene. If so, I think what you need to do is set the ambient light color to black or dark gray and add a directional light and adjust the intensity to get the look you want.
You can’t. Bump maps REQUIRE a light to work. Why can’t you use one with really low intensity?
see my scene requires it to be really dark. i cant even ad a bit of light. cuz im making slender game
If it’s pitch black, no one can see the bump maps anyway. if it’s not pitch black, go to edit/render settings and make the ambient light black and use one very dim light. Or just leave the ambient only (which looks really crappy by the way) and don’t bother with bump maps.
