we discovered a weird normal issue since we switched to the Unity5 beta. (from 4.6)
On the right side the normalmap shades the asset correctly. Rotated by 90° though it seems to shut off completely. The asset is set up correctly. (UV Shells match smoothing groups, texture asset is flagged as normal map). The asset has also been tested in CryEngine, UE4 and Unity 4.6 where its shaded correctly in all directions. Also tried flipping the chanels but it always shades only correctly in one single orientation.
Is this a known issue? I quuickly searched through the bug tracker, but didnt find anything related to normals.
