Normalized View Port Rect performance

If your camera is only going to render things that exist in a certain portion of the screen, will the game run faster if you set the Normalized View Port Rect to encompass only this area?

hello!

If the camera renders less objects than it was rendering before, it should help the performance :). not sure if you are going to note it, but it will definitely help the performance.

It won’t.

Making the far clip plane smaller should help too as it will be rendering less objects.

No it won’t. Nothing whatsoever will change in terms of what gets rendered by the camera.

Are you just using one camera? If so, then this is a bad idea, since the non-rendered areas are undefined.

No. A whole bunch of them. My question applies to a few of them.

Learned about that a long time ago the hard way (by looking at whatever garbage was left over in memory). Almost melted my brains!

Well and good then. I seriously doubt there’s enough difference to show up on any benchmarks. You could do some benchmarks just to be sure though.
