I have 2 questions regarding the AppStore Approval process, i hope someone can help me with this. (if this post is not in the right forum, please feel free to move it)
1.)
This afternoon at around 02:00 pm, i receive email approval for my 1st game (after waiting for 15 days), Itemania,
Right after i get the email, i changed the “Availability Date” into today’s date (Jul/31/2009), my original availability date is Aug/08/2009.
In my experience, it takes several hours from the approval email before the app shows up in a search on the App Store. Changes to the app info take a while to propagate, also. However, the approval email has the link to your app on the App Store and if you click on that you should see it.
i’m going to ask my friend to double check the link on the email approval.
btw, about the TaxPayer information, (number 4), do you have any idea about the difference between “Exempt Payee” and “Subject to Backup Withholding” ??
I too received a ‘ready for sale’ email today (the 31st US time), and after setting the date to the 31st I was (and still am) not visible on the app store.
The email saying your app is ready doesn’t have a link - but the ‘Manage your apps’ section does (next to the app name) but even this link is not working.
Not sure what is up, last time I changed date to release an app it took about 5 minutes.
Re the tax stuff, I believe backup withholding means Apple will hold back some of your payment to pay the IRS, and you should always take the other option unless you happen to owe taxes. But like legal stuff, don’t take my word for it. It’s probably explained in the iTunesConnect doc that you can download from the iTunesConnect site.
Here’s a screenshot of an approval email from a couple of weeks ago, which has a link to the app (the little arrow). But who knows, maybe things are in flux right now. I notice some of my older approval emails don’t have a link.
