Not detecting VSCode (VSCodium more specifically)

Hello. I’ve recently tried moving to Fedora for my work station. It’s not going without a hiccup though. So far I’ve managed to get my old project up and running fine, even if I have to open it in the unofficial flatpak version of Unity first to not corrupt the project.

Frustratingly though, it’s not detecting my VSCodium install (VSCode but with less telemetry) under external tools. This is the rpm version of VSCodium, not the flatpak version. I have no idea why though, since the flatpak version of Unity detects it no problem. Trying to look up why it might not appear doesn’t really bring up anything. Thankfully I can manually set it’s path, but I’ve not had much luck finding that.

Any ideas why it might not being detected? I have no idea when Unity searches for code editors or how to force it to search again, so it’s all a bit of a black box to me.

Thanks

If you installed Codium with flatpak then Unity won’t see it.

I should have clarified, it’s not the flatpak version. The site mentioned SDK issues so I installed the rpm instead. I also meant the flatpak version of unity detects this rpm vscodium no problem. I’ll edit the original message for clarity.

So the unofficial flatpak version is even better than the official crappy package one…

Anyway, you can get Codium path with the whereis command. For example, on my system (also Fedora) whereis code returns /usr/bin/code.
