Does anyone happen to know the exact type of artwork this is?

I’d like to achieve some form of look like this for my game. I do have ‘painterly’ effects I’ve bought from the asset store in the past, but they aren’t anything like this. They look more like ‘blobs’ of paint, this image doesn’t look like blobs of paint.

Any idea what this sort of art style is called and also any tips on where I can find out how to make an image effect like this?

From the looks I guess that it is a colored pencil drawing. On how to achieve this I don’t know, ,you can not just put a shader on a rendering and expect to get an artwork out of it. For me these images always have a flat look. Even though there are shadows and fog they don’t give me the impression of depth as other images do.

I am still not sure what this is. But flat colors, less defined shadows, the lack of specular highlights and different light sources can lead to this. But after all I think the lack of perspective is something that makes them look weird. There are barely any objects that are just scattered in any direction. It’s mainly horizontal and vertical lines, like the world is made of billboards facing the camera.

Yeah, looks like colored-pencil to me. I use colored pencils all the time (but I’m not nearly as good as whoever drew that :p).

There are some post-processing filters on the asset store that look similar. They usually use the word “sketch” or “pencil” to describe the effect. Or “Hand drawn”

@McDev02 Yeah this is one of my biggest hurdles with doing any kind of post processing. Depth ruins the non-depth of a piece of paper lol.

Yeah I started to realize that it does look like colored pencils, but couldn’t be sure. However, thank you all so much for the advice.

The last of specular highlights, etc is a good point that I hadn’t thought of :).
And the colored pencil is what I believe it is too, just glad I got two other opinions on it :slight_smile:

Holy beanies! That is some fantastic artwork.:slight_smile:
It looks like colour pencil, but there is a possibility it might be pastel art, or maybe a combination of the two.
