NullReferenceException when adding an empty script

Ok, I’m pretty new to unity, but encountering an error which I can’t find a sollution for.
When I try to add a script to my project I immediatly get a NullReference. I tried using the default name for the script (NewBehaviourScript), but even then.
To be clear: I didn’t even change a single thing to the actual script from what you get by default. So it can’t be a coding error in the script.

Did anyone else have this problem?
Is there a sollution to this?

@unity_PI1gaJbOP4t6eQ Just restart Unity and mono. Should fix it.

I notice people can get this error with relation to the cloud. Somehow.

More of a place to check rather than an answer but it may point to one.

I tried reinstalling unity and it seems to work now, probably there was something wrong with my installement
Did install it on my C partition now (instead of my normal partition for programs, which is a different one), so maybe it has something to do with that.
Anyway, thanks for the help guys!

Only reinstalling to a different partition fixed this problem for me
