NVIDIA's next-gen tablet mobile GPU Kepler running Battlefield 3

Almost. Battlefield 2.95

It looks like battlefield bad company 2 graphics IMO. Not impressed.

This. It doesn’t look that amazing.

I dont know if they were saying anything relevant during the office/lobby shot (that seemed to be the bulk of it) but it looked like garbage. Low res, heavy aliased edges, and bland coloring (but the later may just be due to a camera recording a screen.)

What i saw there is nothing that cant be pulled out today in an iphone 5, or iPad 4

It was just a comparison, the office/lobby is showing what a current state of the art iPad can offer in terms of raw GPU power (though clearly not in artist or style terms as it looked crap), they then cut to BF 3, full dynamic lighting, heavy particle use, many high polygon characters etc.

Not sure why everyone else is so unimpressed with it to be honest, the BF 3 parts loooked prety damn impressive for a TABLET mobile gpu.

I certainly find it impressive for a tablet.

Decent for a tablet.

Controls would suck though.

Yeah I’m not understanding how its not impressive considering it’s a tablet.

You don’t understand! This device designed to run for 5-10 hours that you can hold in your hand and carry everywhere needs AT LEAST as good graphical fidelity as a desktop PC! It also can’t cost more than $400 or it’s a ripoff!

You’re not understanding.

It’s running a deferred renderer on low settings that’s NOT mobile optimised save for just lowering detail levels. This is fairly important once you get into optimisation for mobile. You’ll have huge leg room.

This means it’s probably burning through tonnes of desktop shader instructions and draw calls, but to it’s credit, keeping up. Wait till we see optimised results.
