Object inspection

hi all
new to unity, after using quest for a couple of years, now, with a windows version am eager to give it a go but am looking for a little help
I want to create a simple app containing a couple of objects with an object inspection camera( sorry quest talking there) but you know what i mean
objects are stationary and camera moves around object using mouse buttons
how do i set this up, would i be right in saying its a simple script attched to the camera, i am eager to do as much as possible but am no scripter, am i screwed because i dont programme
hope somone can help
cheers
Al

sorted it out,
doh, orbit camera but still no zoom??

First off, welcome to the forums.

Second, what script are you using now? Perhaps that will help us guide you as there are a few ways you might implement a zoom feature (physically move the camera or animate the field of view both come to mind).

hi thanks for the reply,
found a script that works ok
but at the moment am only evaluating, so moving on to other things, i am comparing it with quest as i have used quest for a couple of years, unity seems much easier for artists to quickly see how certain things look (models and textures) and far easier to apply different texturing techniques
i am not a programmer so scripting side may be a let down for me, but we have programmers here so they may take that side over,in quest you use nodes ( they hold bits of code) and expressions for interactivity
but i am eager to thouroughly look through unity and who knows may be converted
am awaiting a reply about trying to get hold of a pro demo version for our company, we want to compare certain feature such as self shadows, networking, render to texture etc etc hopefully they will oblige
cheers
Alan
